CPHAR Fellows Biographical InformationEva Katz, MPH, RDEva Katz, PhD, MPH, RD, earned her doctorate in Nutrition Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 2010. She received her B.S. in Nutritional Science at Rutgers University and her M.P.H. at the University of California, Berkeley. She is also a Registered Dietitian. Dr. Katz is currently a post-doctoral fellow in patient reported outcomes at Johnson and Johnson Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Katz’s research at UNC focused on the impact of age and adiposity on chronic disease risk in multi-ethnic populations. For her dissertation research she examined the association of general and regional measures of adiposity with components of the metabolic syndrome over different stages of adulthood. Determining the extent to which age, ethnicity and markers of genetic and environmental factors modify these relationships were of particular importance in her analyses. Dr. Katz was awarded a full scholarship to attend the National Institute on Aging sponsored Body Weight, Adiposity, Energetics and Longevity Conference, November, 2007. Her faculty advisory committee for the training program included Barry Popkin, PhD (lead mentor) and Victor Marshall, PhD. Dr. Katz completed the CPHAR program in September 2010.
