CPHAR Fellows Biographical InformationLaura P. D'Arcy, MPALaura P. D'Arcy, MPA, is doctoral candidate in the Department of Health Policy and Management, Gillings School of Global Public Health. Ms. D'Arcy graduated magna cum laude from Miami University in Oxford, OH with a Bachelor of Arts in economics and public administration. She holds a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in public policy from the University of Georgia. Ms. D'Arcy works with Dr. Sally Stearns and is collaborating with her in the preparation of a number of manuscripts for publication. Ms. D'Arcy and Dr. Stearns are conducting an analysis of the effect of turnover among nursing home staff on resident outcomes using the facility and resident components of the 2004 National Nursing Home Survey. Ms. D'Arcy is also working with a team led by Dr. Stearns that is conducting analyses of long-term outcomes for elderly patients with coronary arterial bypass grafts or stents following acute coronary syndrome using Medicare claims data from 2002-2008.
