Senior Community Service Employment Research Project

This project focuses on low-income older workers and the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP). It will provide important information about the program, including growing numbers of eligible participants, exemplary programs, best practices, and potential for collaboration with other services. Research results will be shared with the SCSEP network, the larger workforce community, and the aging network.

The proposal seeks to bring together the major stakeholders in the creation of jobs for older workers in North Carolina, including SCSEP participants, coordinators, supervisors, employers and key leaders in the field. The goal of the project is to identify long term care health sector jobs suitable for older workers and to recommend strategies for optimizing the fit between older workers' talents and seniors' needs for assistance to perform their activities of daily living.
