Lifelong Access Libraries Evaluation Project

The UNC evaluation of the Lifelong Access Libraries Initiative is a collaboration between the UNC Institute on Aging and the UNC School of Information and Library Science. Lifelong Access Libraries is a national initiative of Libraries for the Future (formerly Americans for Libraries Council) supported by The Atlantic Philanthropies. Lifelong Access is a model for engaging active older adults that emphasizes learning, social connections, life planning and community engagement. The UNC evaluation team is examining facilitators and barriers to program and service implementation among the Centers of Excellence that have been identified by Libraries for the Future and the effects of the Lifelong Access Libraries Training Institute on the fellows and their libraries.

The evaluation program is housed at the UNC Institute on Aging and led by Principal Investigator Joanne Gard Marshall, PhD.
