News ReleaseSenior Leadership Initiative Class Of 2012 NamedMay 26, 2011 The UNC Institute on Aging is pleased to announce the selection of the Senior Leaders class of 2012 under the The Senior Leadership Enhancement Initiative. The program, sponsored by the IOA with support provided by AARP-NC, the NC Association on Aging, and the NC Association of Area Agencies on Aging, recognizes the importance of older adult leadership in addressing issues affecting senior citizens. The initiative provides opportunities for candidates to broaden their understanding of aging in North Carolina, develop their leadership skills through an individualized learning agreement, participate in a leadership project, and participate in training made available through the Institute on Aging. Members of the new class are: Lillian Corprew-Cleveland County; Fran Edwards-Brunswick County; Joyce Lowrimore-Brunswick County; John Thompson-Carteret County; Margaret Towman-Wake County; and Charles Youse-Northampton County.
