IOA Researchers Develop Jobs to Careers Readiness ToolSeptember 2, 2010 Jennifer Craft Morgan, PhD, IOA Associate Director for Research, and Thomas R. (Bob) Konrad, PhD, IOA Senior Research Scientist, have developed an online tool to help organizations self-assess their readiness for implementing innovations in the area of work-based learning and career pathway initiatives for Frontline Health and Healthcare workers (FLWs). This tool allows organizations to assess strengths and limitations related to policies, practices and work processes that are likely to contribute to the successful implementation and adoption of FLW workforce development initiatives. These recommendations are based on findings from Jobs to Careers: Transforming the Front Lines of Health Care, which explores new ways to help frontline health care workers get the skills they need to provide quality health care and build a career. After completing the tool, organizations may want to address one or more areas identified through the self-assessment to boost prospects for successful implementation of workforce development initiatives for FLWs. |
