Learn About Evidence Based Health Promotion Programs for Older Adults with New Online Training Modules

July 18, 2008

Through a contract from the NCOA's Center for Healthy Aging, the UNC Institute on Aging recently completed a series of online training modules on evidence-based health promotion for older adults. The modules are designed primarily for aging services providers but are also valuable resources for those who work in a public health or human services agency, or students in gerontology or a health discipline.

The modules are intended be an introduction to basic concepts about evidence based health promotion programs. Each of the modules covers basic knowledge and hands-on application; they define health promotion concepts, frameworks and terms, and they provide interactive exercises, downloadable tools and resources that can help you plan for, implement, and reinforce the quality of your health promotion programs.

IOA staff involved in the project were Mary Altpeter, Danielle Borasky, and Ellen Schneider. For more information, or to access the modules, visit this Center for Healthy Aging website at: http://www.healthyagingprograms.org/content.asp?sectionid=135.
