Registration Open for 2008 NCCOA Conference

The PreProgram & Registration booklet for the 2008 NCCOA conference which will be held at the Greenville Convention Center & Hilton Hotel in Greenville, North Carolina, October 28-30, 2008, is now available on the conference web site at: http://www.aging.unc.edu/nccoa.

This year's Conference theme is "Healthy? Wealthy? And Wise?—Growing Older in North Carolina." A panel of researchers from East Carolina University will present the Opening Plenary. Leah M. Devlin, State Health Director, and Dennis W. Streets, Director of the Division of Aging and Adult Services, will address the attendees at the Closing Plenary. Conference tracks will include: Healthy Aging, Senior-Friendly Communities, Family and Intergenerational Relations, Gender, Race and Class, Elder Rights, and more.

On Wednesday night during the Conference, East Carolina University will host a special evening that includes a bus tour of ECU’s medical and central campus areas, followed by a pig pickin’ in the Club level of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium featuring New Orlean’s style musical entertainment provided by ECU’s School of Music.
