NC Conference on Aging Announces 2007 Theme and Issues Call for Presentations

The 6th Annual North Carolina Conference on Aging will focus on the theme "Today, Tomorrow, Together!" The Conference will be held September 10-12, 2007 at the M.C. Benton, Jr. Convention & Civic Center in Winston-Salem, NC. Conference planners also issued a Call for Presentations to all those wishing to make a presentation at the Conference. This year marks the first time that abstracts can be submitted online; the online submission process is described on the conference website.

Conference Chair, Bill Lamb, commented 2007 theme, "Our goal this year is to emphasize the need to for us all - service providers, academics, government employees, young people, old people, everyone - to work together to create the best environment possible for our older adults in North Carolina. " Given the theme of working together, priority will be given to proposals which address current best practices or emerging policy issues in ways that demonstrate the integration of research, education and practice.

The North Carolina Conference on Aging is a collaborative effort to develop a professional conference to provide educational and networking opportunities for anyone interested in long-term care, vital aging, family issues, work and retirement, leadership, and professional development. Realizing the diverse nature of this task, we have made a deliberate effort to include local, regional and state-level service providers, educators, students, consumers, volunteers, clients, caregivers, policymakers, and administrators.
