Active Options Seeking North Carolina Physical Fitness Programs for Older Adults

October 23, 2006

Active Options, a national online database of physical fitness programs for older adults, is seeking to build its collection of North Carolina physical fitness programs for older adults. Active Options collects information about health and physical activity programs available for aging adults, and makes it available in an online database to help individuals find activity options in their communities. The goal of Active Options is to improve the health of senior citizens by connecting them to the resources that work for them.

Local and state leaders in North Carolina are working to enroll communities and gather information about programs available in North Carolina. All programs that sponsor physical activity programs are encouraged to enter their data, including golf courses, senior centers, bowling alleys, commercial gyms, and more. To find out how to enter your data, please visit Active Options in North Carolina.

Active Options is a project of the The National Council on the Aging (NCOA), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the CDC's Healthy Aging Research Network (HAN). In North Carolina, Active Options is a project of the NC Healthy Aging Network.
