News ReleaseAt-Large Delegates from North Carolina to the White House Conference on Aging AnnouncedSeptember 1, 2005 CHAPEL HILL — Five At-Large Delegates from North Carolina were among those announced yesterday by the 2005 White House Conference on Aging (WHCoA). Among the five from North Carolina is Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead, Director of the UNC School of Medicine Program on Aging, and Associate Director for Clinical Affairs, UNC Institute on Aging. The North Carolina At-Large Delegates are:
At-Large delegates were selected by the WHCoA Policy Committee following an extensive application process. At-Large delegates represent a wide group of varied interests and professions including aging and health professionals, baby boomers, business and industry, disability, non-profit, veterans from all over the country. The At-Large Delegates are in addition to the other delegates, announced in June 2005, who were appointed by Governors of all 50 states, the U.S. Territories, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia, Members of Congress, and the National Congress of American Indians.
