IOA Appoints New Business Manager

March 23, 2005

The UNC Institute on Aging announces the appointment of Robin Burke as Business Manager, effective immediately.

Robin has been Assistant Business Manager for the Institute for several years and in fact began working for the IOA part-time while completing her B.A. in Sociology from UNC. Her full time appointment as an employee dates to the summer of 1999. Last year she served as Acting Manager for seven weeks.

In her busy life Robin is also bass player and vocalist with the bluegrass group, The GrassCats, and a member of the Kindred Hearts, a southern gospel group. She appears on recordings with both groups. She is also the choir leader of her church.

Robin has been well mentored by her predecessor, Wendy Mann, has had direct experience with the challenges of this important position, and has strong support from the administrative support staff and directors of the Institute.

The Institute will be accepting applications for the Assistant Manager position.
