News Release2005 NC Conference on Aging Issues Call for PresentationsFebruary 11, 2005 Today, the 2005 North Carolina Conference on Aging issued a call for Presentations for its fourth annual conference. Applications can be downloaded from the Conference web site. The 2005 Conference will be held October 19-21 at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center and the Sheraton Grand Hotel. The theme is "Research and Practice for Well-being in an Aging Society." The event will feature papers, posters, workshops and round-tables, as well as lectures by Dr. James Firman, President and CEO of the National Council on Aging, and Dr. Linda George, Professor at Duke University. The North Carolina Conference on Aging is a collaborative effort to develop a professional conference to provide educational and networking opportunities for anyone interested in long-term care, vital aging, family issues, work and retirement, leadership, and professional development. Realizing the diverse nature of this task, we have made a deliberate effort to include local, regional and state-level service providers, educators, students, consumers, volunteers, clients, caregivers, policymakers, and administrators.
