News ReleaseHealth Promotion Activities During Healthy North Carolina MonthAugust 27, 2004 Governor Easley has declared September as "Healthy North Carolina" month. The goal of Healthy North Carolina Month is to raise awareness about health issues and encourage North Carolina citizens to engage in healthy activities. Small lifestyle changes can have a dramatic, positive impact on health. At the IOA, our North Carolina Healthy Aging Network is working to identify clear goals, strategies, and action plans to foster research relative to healthy aging and to effectively disseminate information about healthy aging to various service and consumer constituencies. Beginning next month, our monthly e-newsletter, NC*Aging, will highlight healthy promotion resources as part of the effort to disseminate healthy aging information across the state. You can receive our newsletter by subscribing to one of our public listservs; information on subscribing is available on our web site at www.aging.unc.edu/news/lists.html.
