The Carolina Program in Healthcare and Aging Research (CPHAR) program, based at the Institute on Aging, announces two new openings for one predoctoral fellowship position and one postdoctoral fellowship position. The deadline for application is January 15, 2004. Details about the program and application procedures are available on the CPHAR website (no longer available).

The anticipated start date for the Predoctoral position will be anytime between 2/1/04 and 4/30/04. The anticipated start date for the Postdoctoral position will be anytime between 5/1/04 and 9/30/04.

The CPHAR Program draws on the extensive resources of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The special strengths of this training program include the ability to study the problems of older adults living in rural communities, particularly involving communities of minority elders; and the strong commitment and track record of UNC Chapel Hill in the areas of health services research and health promotion/disease prevention.

CPHAR faculty mentors represent a broad array of disciplines from clinical, public health and social sciences sectors of the university. The CPHAR program is supported by a National Research Service Award (NRSA) Institutional Training Grant from the National Institute on Aging.
