News ReleaseDEAR Program requesting small grants proposalJanuary 7, 2002The Program on Demography and Economics of Aging and the Life Course seeks proposals for small grants from UNC-CH faculty, post-doctoral fellows, and graduate students to support the development of new research projects. Applicants can request up to $20,000 for the support of investigator time, research assistance, data purchase, supplies, and other legitimate proposal-development costs. It is anticipated that most awards will be in the $5,000-$10,000 range, but well-justified requests for up to $20,000 will be considered. Projects should be completed within 12 months from the start date, and should result in a proposal for external funding or a substantially complete dissertation by the end of the project period. The deadline for Spring 2002 submissions is March 22, 2002. Details of
