News ReleaseFindings Briefs Released Revealing Key Information on the Long Term Care WorkforceOctober 31, 2001 The WIN A STEP-UP project at the Institute on Aging has released several findings briefs detailing the final results of three years of research. The WIN A STEP UP (Workforce Improvement for Nursing Assistants: Supporting Training, Education, and Payment for Upgrading Performance) project was aimed at examining and improving the situation of frontline caregivers in the long-term care workforce in the state of North Carolina. The project team surveyed certified and uncertified nursing assistants across the state. The research involved a partnership between the Institute on Aging and the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Facility Services. It was funded by Kate B. Reynolds Charitable Trust. Further information, including copies of the findings briefs are available from the WIN A STEP UP web site. More reports will be released in the coming months.
