Workforce Survey Results Released

September 19, 2001

The IOA has released the final report from its two-year survey
of the workforce serving older adults in North Carolina. The survey included the community-based workforce and those in long term care and hospice facilities.

Findings from the survey indicate a high level of interest in continuing education through workshops and conferences and significant interest in certificate and degree programs in aging. The survey also gathered information about delivery formats. The majority of those responding to the survey had access to technology and are generally amenable to a variety of delivery formats, including teleconferencing and online instruction.

Results from the survey will be used to inform education development activities at the IOA and around the state. The full report is available at: http://www.aging.unc.edu/education/workforce.html
