IOA grant results in publication

The results of a project funded by the Institute on Aging's Exploratory Grant Program have been published in a recent issue of The Gerontologist. Authors Joseph R. Sharkey and Pamela S. Haines published "The feasibility of using a telephone-administered survey for determining nutritional service needs of noninstitutionalized older adults in rural areas: time and costs" in the August 2001 issue.

Sharkey is a doctoral student in nutrition ast UNC Chapel Hill, and was the 2000 student winner of the Gordon H. DeFriese Career Development In Aging Research Award, awarded by the Institute on Aging. Haines is a faculty member in the Department of Nutrition at UNC Chapel Hill.
