News ReleaseSenior Leadership Applications DueJanuary 3, 2001 Applications are due February 3 for the UNC Senior Leadership Initiative 2002 program. The Senior Leadership Initiative is open to any older person currently residing in North Carolina. This program recognizes the importance of older adult leadership in addressing issues affecting themselves and the supports necessary to complement the skills and experiences brought by the participants to the program. Participants engage in a 15 month program which will include a series of seminars and tutorials related to emerging aging issues in North Carolina and the development of an individualized personal leadership development plan tailored to the unique needs of each participant. Each candidate selected will receive a stipend of $2,000 to assist in the implementation of the personal leadership development plan. This initiative has evolved from the Duke Senior Leadership Program and the Duke LTC Resources Program is continuing support in the form of stipends to support 3 Senior Leaders for the 2002 class.
