Faculty Retreat Scheduled for September 28

August 30, 2000

The Institute on Aging, Program on Aging, SSW Certificate in Aging, SSW CARES and the Aging, Disablement and Long Term Program of the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research invite you to join fellow faculty interested in aging education, public service and research for our next "roll up your sleeves" retreat to identify needed resources and networks to support our work:

"Charting the Course for Aging at Carolina, Session II"
Thursday, September 28th, 2:00-5:00
Dowd Harris Room of The Carolina Club (lower level)

We'll discuss strategies and plan next steps to meet the goals we identified at the last retreat, focusing on building and strengthening our educational and public service activities in aging. (A follow-up session will focus on research activities).

To help stimulate thinking in advance of the retreat, below are a summary of the small group discussions from the past retreat and two proposals for next steps in education and public service. Our goal for this session is to define and set in motion an action plan to be completed during this academic year.

And to cap the afternoon's activities, we'll enjoy a reception and informal networking. Please plan on joining us!

RSVP by September 21 to Mary Altpeter, IOA Associate Director for Operations at malt@med.unc.edu or 966-9444.
