Member Institutions :: UNC CharlotteCampus Web Site:Gerontology Program:The Gerontology Program at UNC Charlotte offers a Master's degree and Graduate Certificate Program, as well as an undergraduate minor. The Master's degree prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to fill a wide variety of positions in the developing field of aging. A Planning and Administration concentration will best meet the needs of those planning to direct programs for older adults and those interested in the development and administration of programs, and a generalist concentration can be designed to meet a student's specific interests. The Graduate Certificate Program in Gerontology provides supplementary graduate education in gerontology for those who already have a graduate degree in another field or those completing a graduate degree in another field, who are interested in working with older adults. Undergraduate students are involved in required, research-based service learning with people with dementia. Research interests of the faculty include person-centered care, communicating with and care of people with dementia, aging and memory, chronic illness self-care and older women's health and quantitative and qualitative research methods including the use of narrative and photography. A full listing of faculty with their research interests is available on the program website, http://www.coas.uncc.edu/gerontology/ Campus Representative:Dena Shenk
