About the North Carolina Gerontology Consortium

Our Vision

The North Carolina Gerontology Consortium (NCGC) will

  1. promote accessibility to courses and degree programs in aging throughout the state among students and those in the aging services workforce;
  2. strengthen and expand the network of scholars in gerontology and geriatrics throughout North Carolina; and
  3. provide an organizational structure to coordinate curricula and to enhance teaching skills using distance education technologies.

Consortium Membership

The Consortium will consist of UNC system campuses, community colleges, and sister private institutions of higher education in the state who agree to formally share resources through distance education formats to enhance the gerontological and geriatric education and training of the workforce serving older adults.
