The Aging Exchange

About the Event

The UNC Institute on Aging, in collaboration with ICARUS (The UNC Interdisciplinary Center for Aging Research: Uniting Scientists) and other campus and community sponsors, will host this half-day event. This year, the Aging Exchange will include a Town Hall Meeting to discuss recommendations and next steps from the campus-wide October 2007 Aging Retreat.

Additional components of the exchange will include:

  • Distribution of the October 2007 Aging Retreat White Paper that highlights UNC’S strengths and future directions in aging research
  • Presentations of the Gordon H. DeFriese and ICARUS Awards and paper presentations by the recipients
  • Poster presentations by UNC Chapel Hill graduate students, postdoctoral and clinical fellows, faculty and research staff
  • A hot hors d’oeuvres reception

Call for Abstracts

The deadline for receipt of poster abstracts will be 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2008. Posters on aging research that have been presented at other venues are permitted. There will be awards for student posters. The Call for Abstracts will be posted at a later date.

Registration

PLEASE NOTE:
While this event is free and open to the public, we will ask that anyone interested in attending pre-register. Directions for pre-registration will be posted at a later date.
